Season 1

In its first series, The Migration Menu set out with a simple premise: to eat its way across West London in the name of research. From Hounslow to Harrow, James and I traced the city’s migratory routes through kitchens, cafés, and community tables – much to the disbelief of our colleagues, who watched us somehow turn lunch into legitimate fieldwork.

What emerged was an exploration of migration as lived experience, told through flavours, stories, and the everyday spaces where people make lives and livelihoods. Equal parts ethnography and eating tour, the series captured the humour, generosity, and complexity of a city always on the move.
