Season Two

James and Luke widen The Migration Menu’s scope. Moving beyond West London while staying rooted in its ethos, the season follows new routes, voices, and builds collaborations to ask bigger questions about migration, culture, and connection.

Really pleased to have found something that celebrates both South Asia food and people. There’s a lot of negative press out there about migration so it is great to hear a podcast that makes a case for it and shows the benefits it has brought to the UK. And although the hosts use their knowledge of anthropology to inform their interviews, it’s really accessible for the general listener, like me, too. Thank you!

Season One

James and Luke set out with a simple premise: to eat their way across West London in the name of research.

From Hounslow to Harrow, they trace the city’s migratory routes through kitchens, cafés, and community tables – much to the disbelief of their colleagues, who watched them somehow turn lunch into legitimate fieldwork.

What emerges is an exploration of migration as lived experience, told through flavours, stories, and the everyday spaces.

Migration Menu is an absolute gem of a podcast that blends food, culture, and migration stories into a rich and deeply engaging listening experience. Each episode masterfully weaves together personal narratives, historical insights, and mouthwatering descriptions of food that reflect the resilience, adaptation, and creativity of migrant communities worldwide.

Whether you’re a foodie, a history buff, or someone interested in global cultures, this podcast will leave you both enlightened and inspired.

Highly recommended for anyone who loves discovering the deeper stories behind the meals we eat and the journeys that shape them! 🍽️🌍🎧
